Daigo “The Beast” Umehara, currently reigning as the world Street Fighter IV champ and possibly the best Ryu user who ever played Street Fighter, has now teamed up with the company that provides pros and avid players with competition-level fight sticks, Mad Catz.

Ume will be representing the company in all professional gaming events around the world. Daigo has been participating in a lot of them for 15 years, but now he’ll be doing so with a Mad Catz fight stick and endorsements. But apart from being the company’s ambassador to the community, the renowned pro gamer will also be lending his expertise to the designers and engineers of Mad Catz to produce top tier peripherals.
Pro gamers often use their custom fight sticks in competitions, but those who don’t usually have Mad Catz gear. With a pro like Daigo assisting in fight stick development, Mad Catz is eyeing a larger market for their peripherals.
