Players are getting a brand-new nanosuit in Crysis 2, but that doesn’t mean you’ll have a huge advantage against your alien enemies right from the start. As Crytek executive producer Nathan Camarillo recently revealed, the aliens you’re gunning for in the game are pretty damn tough. Smart, too.

One enemy Camarillo described to PSM3 magazine seems to focus on athletic prowess. “Jumping across the level and sprinting, he’ll be able to do that as well,” said Camarillo. “He’ll really challenge you. He scales buildings, he jumps over you. He’s tough.”

Another, more brutish type will reportedly actively try to blow up whatever cover you’re hiding behind. “If you crouch behind a car, he’ll know that it can be destroyed and will blow it up with his rockets.”

The enemy A.I. seems to have been bumped up quite a bit as well. Enemies now react differently based on what kind of firepower you’re packing. “If I’m coming at the heavy guy with a pistol, he doesn’t give a shit,” said Camarillo. “But if I picked up a rocket launcher, and I fired it, even he might take cover or try and side-step it.”

Crysis 2 is tracking a November release on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.
