This post will stay on top to give you quick access to news as it breaks. For other E3 news, please scroll further down

UPDATE 1: We’ve been told to turn off all wireless devices, possibly to reduce the chance of interfering with the Wiimote… I wonder if they’ll consider embracing “Wiimote” as an official name. It’s kinda catchy.

UPDATE 2: Here we go, it’s started!

UPDATE 3: Miyamoto on stage conducting the theme from Legend of Zelda

UPDATE 4: A racing game is being demo’d using the Wiimote.

UPDATE 5: Reggie takes te stage, talks about how the next generation isn’t about what you see, it’s about playing, and playing is believing

UPDATE 6:  Video of a bunch of people playing with ther Wiimotes, using them as drumsticks, tennis rackets etc.

UPDATE 7: Oh SNAP! Next gen Mario and Metriod! Graphics look great… I’m getting a Wii, my Sony heart is broken!

UPDATE 8: Zelda looks HAWT on Wii, Ninty owns. Grappling hook Wiimote control. Red Steel’s swordplay looks awesome!

UPDATE 9: Nintendo doesn’t want to just make thing’s a little bit better, they say that only works for a while.

UPDATE 10: No date and price just yet. It’ll come out in Q4 2006 and cost less than PS3 and Xbox 360. That’s a promise.

UPDATE 11: Tries to validate name, makes sense, but it’s still silly.

UPDATE 12: Zelda is a launch title. BOOM! Ranged weapons in Twilight Princess to be controlled using Wiimote. A speaker is built into the Wiimote, you’ll hear the bowstring go taut on the Wiimote, the arrow will “fwip” across and you’ll hear the thud on the TV speaker.

UPDATE 13: The nunchuck also has built in motion sensors independent of the Wiimote.

UPDATE 14: Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, Super Mario Galaxy, Excite Truck, Project Hammer, Disaster: Day of Panic, Sonic, Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles, Madden 07, Tony hawk, Rayman, Spongebob Squarepants. 27 Wii games playable tomorrow on show floor, QJ will be there!

UPDATE 15: Sexay French dudes demo Red Steel, graphics look great and the control looks phenomenal.

UPDATE 16: George Harrison is on to talk about DS sales, yadda, yadda, yadda.

UPDATE 17: Starfox DS, Yoshi’s Island 2, and a really cheapo looking commercial for DS. Looks like the big bucks went to Wii.

UPDATE 18: Satoru Iwata on stage. Nintendo is targeting not only current gamers, but those who once played and lost interest, and even those who’ve never played before. In order to approach these two camps, Nintendo wants to reinvent the bridge between gamers and the games… the controller.

UPDATE 19: The Wiimote breaks down a barrier for non-gamers. Iwata talks on the virtual console, and it’s appeal to gamers who haven’t played games in a long time. Talks about load times, how we need to change this because people just don’t have the time. Wii powers up virtual consoles games in just a few seconds. Even when Wii seems like it’s turned off, the console uses technology called Wii Connect 24 to enter standby mode, it remains connected to the net so developers can upload content to the console at any time. Friends can visit you “village” (prolly Animal Crossing) and leave you messages and objects.

UPDATE 20: “Wii Sports” is a title that includes Tennis, Golf and Baseball in one package. Available at system launch.

UPDATE 21: Shigeru Myamoto announces that the first person to play Wii will be… Scott Dyer!

UPDATE 22: Shiggy, Iwata, Dyer and Reggie are playing 4 player Tennis. Nintendo just OWNT the next generation!

UPDATE 23:
Games will never be the same. The revolution has begun.

UPDATE 24: And that’s it folks. Nintendo delivered in a big way, my first next generation console purchase will definitely be the Wii. And that’s coming from a Sony fanboy.
