It was supposed to be a 3D Bravia TV showcase event for Sony, but instead, Tokyo’s Roponggi neighborhood roared to life because of the playable Gran Turismo 5 demo stations. Yes, true to their word, GT 5 was up and running as demos, this despite the game being stalled at 90% development.

The demo stations in the “3D dot cafe” had Recaro racing seats for the GT5 demos, complete with a wheel and foot pedals. The seats also take a page from the Sixaxis controller, rumbling away when the car crashes or skids on the road surface.
For the most part, however, those who were able to get their hands on the playable demo reported that this one didn’t really give anything new and was practically the same as the one they put on display at the recent TGS.
