Aside from the much hyped-up announcement of the new iPhone, Apple also has another OS incoming – the Apple iOS 4. The new operating system will have over a hundred new and upgraded features, so here’s a heads-up on the highlights.
There wasn’t enough time at the WWDC earlier to cover all of the new features, but the new OS will have emphasis on multitasking, iBooks, file management, and yes, advertising.
The addition of multi-tasking won’t be getting in the way of the device’s performance or battery life. Sounds good, but why don’t you take a look at this vid and see for yourself?
Email will also be getting a major overhaul, and you’ll be able to view all your mail in one convenient location. In addition, your messages will be threaded, so you won’t have to go back and forth the previous items.
As for file management, the new iOS 4 will allow users to organize up to 2,160 apps into one across separate folders. If you’d like others to have that many apps on their device, there’s a new app-gifting feature that lets you send them over.
There are a lot more little tweaks and updates here and there, like easily changeable backgrounds, an email spellchecker, and multimedia improvements for the iTunes, photos, and the camera.
