BBC: Move more precise, Kinect has more physical experience

Both Kinect and Move have yet to reach consumers’ hands, but some people have already pegged Sony’s motion controller to be more precise than Microsoft’s. BBC’s tech guy Rory Cellan-Jones is one of them.
According to Cellan-Jones, who was able to test both motion controllers, it’s a bit of a trade-off. Move wins out in terms of precision but Kinect offers gamers a more physical experience.
“I was not quite convinced that Microsoft’s technology would deliver for hard-core gamers,” he said. “It seemed to work well on fun Wii-like games where you didn’t need too much precision – I’m not so sure how whether it would deliver on a first-person shooter.”
Cellan added that Sony’s less radical approach for Move “makes the whole experience less physical than with Kinect, but it also delivers a lot more precision. Sony showed us a table tennis game which seemed to mimic the real thing much more closely than I have seen elsewhere.”
Of course, the last word will be down to consumers when both motion control systems hit the market.
