Dev diary: Bringing Metroid: Other M to the Wii
About the only major exclusive coming to the Wii in the next three months is Metroid: Other M, so this definitely needs a closer look. If you’re interested to know more about how Team Ninja is handling the game, here’s a two-part dev diary on how Samus will go about her fresh new run.

Part 1
Part 2
Given the difference in style and platform from the previous Metroid games, Other M quite notably has a few interesting tweaks. One of them is that Samus will begin firing before she raises her firearms completely. Doesn’t sound like a big deal, but this was done specifically to simulate the instantly-firing guns of the previous games.
Another interesting change is that despite the completion of a fair amount of CG footage, the team decided to remove them from the game so as not to disrupt the gameplay experience.
