GestPoint’s Gesture Recognition Technology for the Xbox 360
The Nintendo Wii has left a great impression that suddenly, everyone is crazy about motion detection in video game consoles. In the recently concluded E3, GestPoint proved that the Xbox 360 can make like a Nintendo Wii without a controller. Using two Xbox 360 Eye-Toy cameras, GestPoint’s gesture recognition technology can detect motion in 3D space. You can direct objects on the screen using your finger or other body part (I was thinking foot). You can move up, down, left, right, and yes, in and out. Give me a moment to think of a game that would require that movement. And while I do, check out the demo below.

The technology can also be used in public terminals as a replacement for a mouse.
