Activision Releases Call of Duty 2: Game of the Year Edition

Activision recently announced that they have released Call of Duty 2: Game of the Year Edition for the Xbox 360. The new edition doesn’t have a price difference compared to the original edition, but it comes with a few extra bonuses.

In addition to Infinity WardÂ’s original Call of Duty 2 game, the special retail edition will also include a token that can be redeemed for the recently released Call of Duty 2: Skirmish Map Pack, two new multiplayer maps (a 400 Microsoft Point value) currently available through Xbox Live Marketplace.  Call of Duty 2: Game of the Year will also include a bonus DVD containing “making of” footage, historic interviews and commentaries and mission walkthroughs from the developers at Infinity Ward.

The addition of being able to download the new multiplayer maps for free is a great reason to pick up the game if you have yet to play the 360’s #1 best selling shooter. Everyone who has already bought COD2 has no real reason to pick up an extra copy, just suck it up and pay the 400 Microsoft points to get the new maps. Call of Duty 2: Game of the Year Edition is available now at the suggested retail price of $59.99 at retail locations throughout North America.
