Apple Towson wins historical work deal with pay raises &, quality-of-life enhancements

IAM CORE’s negotiations won Apple a historic victory in Towson, Maryland. Apple Towson, a unionized company with IAM CORE representing 86 employees, has reached a significant agreement after two years. Employees can look forward to better pay, greater management transparency, and improved scheduling, in addition to their previous benefits. The IAM International President Brian Bryant said, “The historic agreement achieved by the courageous IAM CORE workers at the Towson Apple Store sets a new benchmark for Apple retail employees nationwide and proves the undeniable strength of collective bargaining.” “The IAM has once again proven that we can take on some of world’s biggest companies and win.” This victory will undoubtedly inspire unionization efforts in other Apple Stores throughout the United States. The agreement will be used as a template for future negotiations with Apple. The three-year contract includes several benefits that were described before the agreement was approved. IAM CORE which represents the union retains the right to negotiate additional benefits. The union’s initial proposal included tips, knowing that they would have to back down on some requests.
