Apple has removed the carousel from the Photos app after listening to early feedback. This could be customized to show multiple featured collections. Safari now has the Distraction Control feature. This feature allows users to temporarily hide distracting elements on screen, such as popups, logins boxes, or ads on websites. The elements are animated to fade into dust and blow away. These elements return when you refresh. iOS 18.1 beta: There are many new changes in this build. Now they can be linked to a wallpaper, so that as you change the wallpaper, your icon tint will change. The wallpapers of the tinted icons are now linked. This is great, particularly if you have your icons tinted in a way that matches a particular wallpaper. The dark icons are also displayed in Notification Center. Dark mode interfaces are also available in more apps that are not stock. Apple has tweaked the programming to make them look good with high-profile apps. Apple has changed the order of the search and select buttons in the Photos app. This is in addition to the removal of the “featured” section. The Music app’s “browse tab” has been renamed to “You”. Control Center now has a dedicated Bluetooth toggle. In the newly designed Control Center, there is a new Bluetooth toggle. This is a dedicated switch that comes in different sizes like the other controls. Apple Intelligence is now available in the EU. Assuming that language and region are set to US. Apple Intelligence is located in Settings. There is a toggle that allows you to type to Siri. Apple Intelligence is now much more responsive than in beta 1. Open Siri is quick and the answers are quicker. Apple’s iOS 18.1 beta 2 is now complete. As we approach the release date, Apple has begun to polish the update. Many of the features we see in iOS 18.1 are coming first to iOS 18.0. Splash screens are everywhere in iOS 18.1 beta 2. This includes many splash screen interfaces which pop up inside apps to inform the user about changes and new features. This beta contains many of them. These introductory screens are found in Photos, Music and the multilingual keyboard. iOS 18.1 beta 2 and iOS 18 beta 6 Apart from the Apple Intelligence changes, all of the above changes are present in iOS 18.0 beta 6. Apple seems to be trying to make these two betas equal before the release of iOS 18. iOS 18.1 will include all the features of iOS 18 plus any new ones that are added. iOS 18.1 beta: Coming this Fall Apple will release iOS 18.0 in the fall, most likely in September along with the new iPhones. Then, iOS 18.1 will arrive with Apple Intelligence. This could be in October. There is an iOS 18 public beta, but iOS 18.1 is not available to the public yet. Please let us know if you notice any other changes so we can update our coverage.
