Nintendo has decided to retire “Animal Crossing Pocket Camp” seven years after its release. But players shouldn’t worry just yet. In 2017, Nintendo released Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp – a free-to play social game based on the Animal Crossing franchise. The game is coming to an end, seven years after it was launched. Nintendo said in a statement spotted by MacRumors that since November 21, 2017, we’ve been honored to watch everyone’s beautiful, diverse campsites flourish. “We would like to extend our sincere thanks to all the users who have enjoyed Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp.” The online service will cease on November 29, 2024. The online game will be unavailable once the service has ended. Nintendo has a plan to keep the concept alive, unlike Miitomo. Developers plan to launch a paid version of the app offline around the same time as Pocket Camp ends. The app will only be available as a paid app, with no subscriptions or in-app purchases. The data from the previous game can be transferred to the new app. The app will retain the majority of features from Pocket Camp. However, the social features like Market Boxes and gifts, as well as visiting other campsites will be removed. Nintendo warns, however, that Leaf Tickets won’t be transferable to the new app and will not work.
