After 13 lengthy years, Snap ultimately has a local iPad type

Snapchat is available on iPad but only in portrait
You’ve been waiting years for this day if you love Snapchat and have an iPad. If you were to experience Snapchat for the first time with its new, long-awaited iPad app, you would have experienced its full glory on a screen between 11 and 13 inches. It’s the same Snapchat instant social media app that was available on iPhones and it’s probably how it should be. Snapchat fans will find that the iPad app is a scaled-up version of the iPhone application with almost no compromises. It allows you to share videos and photos instantly, distort your face with funny makeup or smudge it. If you are not a Snapchat user, then the same applies. The signup and log in screens are still iPhone versions and look very bare. When you use it, you can only hold your iPad in landscape mode. There is no option to use Snapchat in portrait mode. The app is otherwise identical to the iPhone version, but it’s been nicely redesigned for its new device. The app makes good use of its new screen size and, after logging in, images are not resized or spaced out. You can’t avoid being contacted within seconds by a stranger who wants to chat. Snapchat was released on the iPhone in 2011. It was released 15 months after the iPad, so there must have been a market and enough time to create a native iPad version. The company did this, 13 years later. We suppose it’s better late than never. It’s finally here, and you can’t say that about Instagram. Their developer still claims the iPad market isn’t big enough to be bothered about. Plus, Snapchat has done a great job of moving to iPad. If you’re into that sort of thing.
