Compare a dummy iPhone and an early case with the iPhone 15 Pro Max
There are a few iPhone 16 case options available ahead of Apple’s It’s Glowtime Event. Here’s how an iPhone 15 Pro Max appears inside one of the new accessory. As is common, mock-up dummy units are often produced by factories in China based on leaked blueprints. Accessories makers use them to test compatibility and size before the device is announced. We are also able to get them in our hands, which gives us a great visual representation for the rumors that we report. We also have an iPhone 16 Pro Max to compare. The screen is said to be expanded from 6.7 to 6.9 inches. The smaller iPhone 16 Pro should also be 6.3 inches diagonally, up from the previous 6.1 inches. The iPhone 15 Pro Max may be a little too small for the case. Unsurprisingly, our large-sized iPhone did not quite fit into the new case. It’s slightly smaller at the top and bottom. You can see the gap on the top and bottom of the phone. The bottom speaker and mic holes are also not perfectly aligned. On the right, you can see that the antenna spot overlaps the new Capture Button. The cutout for Capture Button appears on the right. The width is not too far off, and the volume buttons and Action Button are positioned correctly. The camera bump is the same. iPhone 16 Pro Max with the new case. When we placed the iPhone 16 Pro Max dummy into the purported iPhone 16 Pro Max cover, it fit perfectly. Everything is in place. The iPhone 16 Pro Max dummy is perfectly sized. Since they’re both based on early schematics leaked from suppliers, it’s not a big surprise. It was interesting to see the way the case handled the Capture Button. It is capacitive, and as we explained in our exclusive coverage on the new control system, it can’t be easily covered. The Capture Button can be easily accessed to take photos. If a case covered it, like they do for the side button, volume button, or Action Button the button could not be used. You couldn’t swipe right or left on it. All will be revealed.
