Japan Weekly Sales (May 8th – May 14th)

Huge drop off in hardware sales this week. Well, huge drop-off in DS sales anyway. Does anything else even sell in Japan?

  9. GBA – 40 [??]
  10. XBX – 36 [474,489]

Well, the numbers make it apparent that the DS is again running into supply issues. Japanese forum goers at NeoGAF are confirming that it’s close to impossible to go to a store and buy a DS or DS Lite. However, these haven’t translated into increased sales for the other handhelds on the market like the PSP and GBA, they’ve just resulted in lost sales overall.

The only new title to break the top ten on the software side is Namco’s baseball title. English Training has now passed the 1 million and Pokemon Ranger has passed 500,000.
