Iris 0.2 Alpha Released!
Like we reported earlier, PSMonkey has just released the latest version of his awesome homebrew game, Iris. Be advised though, this is still heavy work in progress, so there will be a few bugs here and there.
The file size is a little big because he has bundled in a few Quake 2/3 Deathmatch maps. In his own words, “Sorry for the rather large file size (its because I included some quake2 deathmatch maps that were converted to quake3).”
The early release of Iris is due to the fact that he wants the modders to start making maps A.S.A.P. So get to work guys! The new engine is loads better than the old one, so have a look at it if you’re into modding.
Quoting PSMonkey, “This is and alpha build of Iris 0.2 which hopefully will become a big fan favorite in the psp scene. Iris is a Simple yet fun death match game for the psp. Users can load up one of the included maps & player models to play with or go online and download more maps & Quake 2 models to use in game. The over all goal of this project is to have something simple, quick & fun yet not be restricted to maps or characters they dont like. Eventually the project will progress far enough to allow many things to be modified or different game types made by the scene. On behalf of Iris team, Happy Hunting!!”
