Super Smash Bros. Brawl Roster Changes
In an interview with Japanese radio program, The Gaming Show, Super Smash Bros. Brawl director and creator Masahiro Sakurai reveal new names appearing on the upcoming Nintendo Wii game. Sakurai confirms the third installment to the massively successful Super Smash Bros. Brawl will have Junior Browser, Samus’ arch enemy Ridley, and Wind Waker’s Link on board.
The young Link, along with Ice Climbers and Mr. Game & Watch, has been scratched from the Nintendo fighting series. The removal of Ice Climbers and Mr. Game & Watch, which was due to the not-so-enthusiastic response from fans, makes Kid Icarus hero Pit the only representative of the “old school” gaming era.
Also confirmed is the total number of characters appearing in the title. Sakurai says a total of forty characters will be included in the game, which means that there is still room for 15 new names, two or three of which will come from third-party editors.
