A First Look At Tabula Rasa
In case you’ve already forgotten (it has been a while), Tabula Rasa is a massively multiplayer science fiction game which incorporates elements of FPS and role-playing. The premise involves an intergalactic war against alien enemy race, The Bane. Don’t be quick to say this NCSoft title is just another title and nothing more.
The in-game action really looks fun and quite different. It includes a variety of melee and ranged weapons plus mystical powers. Gamers can opt for single play or enter group play in an instant via teleportation. The new Character Cloning System somewhat gives players glimpse of their character’s future, as they are allowed to try different options first before actually committing them. Also, contents are updated frequently based from the players’ efforts. Because of this, expect a lot of collectible and rare items as rewards.
Unfortunately though, the original concept of vehicles, space combat and player housing did not push through anymore. Characters are class and level based but only the Humans are going to be playable come launch time. NCSoft is targeting a winter release for Tabula Rasa.
Aside from the interesting backstory, the developer also wants gamers to take notice of the much planned combat. These screenshots reveal, vaguely, the status the game is currently in now. Tabula Rasa Beta starts this coming fall.
