A Sneak Peek at the Xbox360 Roadmap
Hmmm…it seems that Microsoft is cooking up some interesting stuff for the Xbox 360. Apparently, the guys at HardOCP had a chance to look at the tentative Xbox360 roadmap a few days ago.
And what did they find out? Let’s see:
- A holiday HD-DVD add-on for the console that would be around $200.
- Xbox 360 is apparently being prepped up for 1080p. Sounds interesting…
- Xbox360 meets Media Center for next year? While the details on this product are certainly few, the concept is a project that is moving forward at Microsoft. The next Xbox360 facelift will be a product that really blurs the lines between HTPC and gaming console. While this is not a term that Microsoft used, the Xbox360 will be seeing an added on “media jukebox” for handling tons of movies, video, pictures, and music.
We at QJ couldn’t guarantee that all of these will be surefire features for future Xbox360 consoles. However, if all of those features would indeed push through, then it seems that the Xbox 360 would be more than just a gaming console, but more like a home entertainment system.
How about you? What features would you like to be put on your Xbox 360? Share your thoughts.
