A Tekken movie in the works
Adding to the list of video games with movie adaptations is Namo Bandai’s Tekken, with Dwight Little (of Anacondas) slated as director for the beat-’em-up flick. Rehearsal for the movie is scheduled to start on September, while the photo shoot dates will start on November, in Hungary.
Moviehole was able to get hold of Jin’s character description, which seems to fit the bill…quite. Check out the movie’s take on Jin, who is slated to be the movie’s lead character:
Jin: Early 20s, tough for his age and has a developed physical presence. He is Asian, or Asian/American, a fine actor and also a natural athlete and/or martial arts practitioner. Jin should feel more man than boy and ideally have a bit of an edge, garnered from living his early life on the streets. Jin will have complex emotional scenes to play and must be convincing both as an actor and athlete. Jin Kazama is the star and lead character in TEKKEN.
Convincing much? With the seeming influx of movies based on games, it’d be a great joy should their storylines and characterizations stay true to the source material. More details as they come along!
