Activision has expressed no surprise at the recently-announced deal between former Infinity Ward bosses Vince Zampella and Jason West and publisher Electronic Arts. Not only that, they’ve also branded it as a result of the pair’s “improper activities”.
Activision has expressed no surprise at the recently-announced deal between former Infinity Ward bosses Vince Zampella and Jason West and publisher Electronic Arts. Not only that, they’ve also branded it as a result of the pair’s “improper activities”.
A statement from Activision issued to gaming blog VG247 reads:
This agreement comes as no surprise to Activision given the myriad of improper activities detailed in the cross-complaint filed on Friday against Jason West and Vince Zampella. We look forward to continuing to work with Infinity Ward’s deep bench of proven talent on exciting new projects.
Prior to today’s announcement of the formation of Respawn Entertainment, Zampella and West were fired by Activision last month over allegations of insubordination and breaches of contract. On their end, the pair sued Activision for reportedly not paying them royalties from Modern Warfare 2. This in turn led to Actision filing a countersuit where the publisher branded Zampella and West as “self-serving schemers.”
