Activision defends Transformers: The Game
Computer and Video Games was one of the lucky few to have ever glimpsed the first peeks of Transformers: The Game. They thus described their sneak peek of the game:
Although the game’s still in development, it lacked the detail and polish we’ve come to expect from 360 games. The environment looked bland and there was a distinct lack of people and traffic.
CVG may have had its reasons in putting out that sort of comment, but Activision defended their work on Transformers: The Game. Activision said that the physics system of the game is not yet final and a large number of animations and reactions of the Transformers have yet to be implemented.
Activision says that the physics system of the game, due out in the coming weeks, will make the player feel as though they are taking heavy hits or are acting through generating considerable mass force behind their own attacks. As of now, though the combat mechanics of the game still don’t fully show the true level of interaction between the Transformers during a battle.
Maybe Activision’s right: we may have to cut them some slack now, at least during these early stages of development. The game developer promises a way better version of the sneak peak, anyway, so let’s just see what they’re going to come up in the next few weeks.
