You may have already heard that the upcoming Dreamworks movie, “Monsters vs. Aliens,” will be getting a game tie-in and that Activision holds the publishing rights. If not, who can blame you? News on this front has been pretty scarce since they announced the project back in 2007. A recent press release by Activision European Publishing can give us some fresh information, though.
The plot is in the title. The protagonists are monsters… versus invading aliens…. Not particularly ground breaking stuff but hey, Stephen Colbert is in the movie playing The President of the United States, so that certainly earns them some points.
The game will feature a single player and a co-op mode. Players can switch between the protagonists of the film as they play (though player 2 in co-op mode is stuck playing a cockroach).
The game will be released March of next year and will be available for the PS3, 360, Wii, DS, PS2 and PC. Expect to pay around US$ 50 for the next gen console versions, US$ 30 for the handheld and US$ 20 for the PC.
The movie is out on March 27, in case you were wondering.
