All-new Bayonetta screenshots

I got to thinking about the viability of high-heeled shoes in battlegrounds last night, and my general conclusion was that no way, no how are they ever going to be any good in reality. The heroine in Platinum Games‘ Bayonetta is proving me wrong, though.

Of course, it helps that she’s wearing special limited edition battle heels with guns in them (and that she’s just in a videogame). Check out that third screenshot below. That gun’s pretty damn big. I wouldn’t want to be on the receiving end of that kick.

She even has all these weird contortionist moves, which I guess helps her make better use of her gunheels, or whatever it is she calls those things. This must be what Hideki Kamiya was talking about when he said this game will “blow the doors off the action genre.”

Anyway. New Bayonetta screenshots below. The game’s set for release on PS3 and Xbox 360, although no launch dates have been announced yet.
