Alone in the Dark 5: playing by fire and other worldly rules
If Alone in the Dark 5’s (Sony PlayStation 3, Microsoft Xbox 360, PC) earlier tech demo teased you dry, here’s another video featuring the game’s world which attempts to be as close as possible to ours. Ever thought how fun it would be if health sprays in survival horror games can actually kill? Hit the jump and you will like what you’ll see.
After keeping us in the dark, Atari and Eden Games are finally revealing the sweet details that promise the Alone in the Dark series’ evolution to this generation. It all gets better, as another of those “Real World Rules” videos is now available to showcase Alone in the Dark 5‘s (Sony PlayStation 3, Microsoft Xbox 360, PC) faithful recreation of the real world.
Improvising is the name of the game, which makes Alone in the Dark 5 a total playground where all objects can be used and have their own properties. Aside from being able to make torches out of chairs and table legs, however, what we really enjoyed to see in the video are the wounds that actually appear on the protagonist’s body. To heal these messy patches of blood, you have to specify which one you’ll apply the health spray on.
Alone in the Dark 5 has other quirks, such as allowing players to upturn tables to use as cover and use the health spray with the lighter to burn enemies. Learn more survival tricks by watching the video below.
