Naysayers would have to think twice before looking at Koei at a bad light, now that the company known for creating an entirely new genre of hack-and-slash is breaking free from staple franchises to bring an innovative new title. Beyond Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors comes Warrior Orochi: an epic combination of the most prominent Chinese and Japanese heroes.
Aside from the fresh moniker, Koei’s latest offering will feature new elements that are sure to woo loyal fans and newcomers alike. With 77 playable characters, four “crossover” storylines, three-man team battle and weapon fusion system, Warriors Orochi is definitely something to look out for.
If all that aren’t enough to get you pumped up, there are 26 new screens from the game’s Xbox 360 version. Nobunaga Oda and Cao Cao staring at each other is priceless – certainly a must see.
