An early look at the Final Fantasy XIII Trophy Set

platinumAh yes, Trophies. This would be the first time for the Final Fantasy series to actually reward you with a badge with things you’ve probably been doing since Terra and Sabin, no, since the Warrior of Light. We’ve just gotten an early look at what will be the Final Fantasy XIII Trophy Set, and it does look like there will be lots of collecting and fighting – just the way you like it.

Bronze

  • Assault Ruby – Master the Attacker Role
  • Destruction Sapphire – Master the Blaster Role
  • Guardian Topaz – Master the Defender Role
  • Hex Jade – Master the Jammer Role
  • Inspiration Amethyst – Master the Enhancer Role
  • Healing Emerald – Master the Healer Role

Silver

  • Limit Breaker – Deal over 100,000 damage to an enemy
  • Behemoth Hunter – Slay a wandering behemoth
  • Perfect Diamond – Learn all abilities to the fullest

Gold

  • Collector of All Things – Collect all weapons and accessories
  • The All Knowing Sage – Gain the complete knowledge of 100 different enemies

Looking at the Gold Trophies, if XIII is anything like XII in terms of gathering items and getting enemy info, you’re in for a loooooong game. Chaining rare single-spawn monsters and getting a few of their rare drop spoils is a freakin’ job. I would know, if Final Fantasy XII had Trophies, I would’ve gotten a Platinum. I’m seriously hoping Square Enix didn’t put a grindfest requirement on your final weapons.

Anyway, there are 16 more Bronze to collect, but you don’t have to sweat those since they’ll come as you play along the story. This is just an early look, so small changes and/or additions won’t come as a surprise.
