Analyst: Xbox 360 price cut puts pressure on Sony and Nintendo
Sony‘s pretty confident that they don’t need a price cut at all, even though Microsoft slashed down the Xbox 360’s Arcade model below even the Wii’s pricetag. Analyst Jesse Divnich (once again) warns that Sony should reconsider its stance, or it will land on last place again this holiday season – and even the Wii may have cause to worry as well. Only a little bit though. More in the full article.
Sony‘s pretty confident that they don’t need a price cut at all, even though Microsoft slashed down the Xbox 360’s Arcade model below even the Wii’s pricetag. Analyst Jesse Divnich of EEDAR (once again) warns that Sony should reconsider its stance, or it will land on last place again this holiday season.
While Sony prides itself in having the “broadest and deepest software lineup in the industry” (according to Sony), Divnich believes that it still won’t be able to match up to Xbox 360 exclusives such as Gears of War 2 and Fable 2.
Even the Wii may have cause to worry as well. Although Divnich doesn’t believe that the Xbox 360’s price cut can significantly damage Wii sales for the holiday season, it may still pull it down. With Wii shortages still plaguing stores, it won’t be surprising if the Xbox 360 can actually give the Wii a blackeye in sales.
