Analysts foresee PS3 price-cut at TGS ’07

Now THIS is a bundle - Image 1With this year’s Tokyo Game Show right around the corner, speculations and expectations are bound to come in bulk. For one, simExchange believes that Sony will announce either a US$ 100 price-cut or an added-value bundle for the PlayStation 3.

Jesse Divinch of simExchange sees a widening gap between Xbox 360 and PS3 sales in favor of Microsoft‘s console that released earlier and figured that Sony needs to dish out a good deal to elevate sales.

He believes that a price drop that will result in more money lost per console sold won’t hurt as much as losing third-party support if developers and publishers decide to support the better selling Xbox 360 instead.

The best time to unveil such huge move, as you would’ve guessed, is during TGS ’07. simExchange reached that conclusion after taking figures from simExchange’s own prediction market where gamers and developers try their hand at industry forecasting.
