Another lightsaber user confirmed for Soulcalibur 4

Soulcalibur 4 - Image 1 Okay, so it was a bit of a letdown when it was announced by Namco Bandai that Yoda and Darth Vader are walking separate paths in  Soulcalibur 4 (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360) versions. While a clash between them on July 29th won't happen, the Secret Apprentice dashes to the rescue to give both a lightsaber dance partner. Curious? Find out what we mean in the full article ahead.

Lightsaber - Image 1 If Namco Bandai's Soulcalibur 4 (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360) got you drooling over the prospect of Yoda and Darth Vader fighting it out with lightsabers, you were probably disappointed to hear that no such thing would take place anytime soon. The two are slated to be exclusive on the game's rival host consoles, forcing players to take out their Jedi frustrations on the regular Soulcalibur cast.

But wait, what's this that Namco Bandai has just announced? It turns out that there will be lightsaber fights in the game, only not between the two LucasArts icons. The publisher says that the Secret Apprentice would be available for play on both the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360 versions.

If you're not familiar with who this enigmatic warrior is, he's Darth Vader's trainee in the events between Star Wars Episode III and Episode IV. He does the villain's bidding while keeping a low profile in this period. All this is chronicled in LucasArts' upcoming action title Star Wars: The Force Unleashed.

This is certainly a welcome addition as we haven't seen a fighting game duel between Star Wars characters since Star Wars: Masters of Teras Kasi in the PlayStation One days. Time to use the Force again, folks.
