ANOTHER rumored Best Buy Halo 3 release date?
You’d think that after dropping the ball once, Best Buy would try to make well sure that whatever release date they’ve got for Bungie‘s Halo 3 would be firm, or at least something they could stand on. And while the chaos in the Halo community is about the scramble for Beta slots, Best Buy quietly slips this into their product page for Halo 3:
NOVEMBER 2007?! Historically speaking, no one can really tell by a Beta test date when exactly a game will be ready for the shelves (estimates run worse when you start adding “closed betas” and “open betas” and “open betas part II” to the equation). The guys at Bullet Sponge, Inc. (a.k.a. our FPS fans), however, were hoping that, with Pimps of the Sea and the Beta well underway, the likely release for Halo 3 would be the middle of the year. Heck, it would be the perfect way to start the fiscal year for Microsoft and Bungie, but that’s economic speculation.
Oh well. Until Bungie says something official, no one’s got anything firm. We’re still hoping for a mid-2007 release, so all that’s left is the beta. Time to buy up all the Crackdown cases we can find.
Thanks to nameistaken1 for the tip!
