One of the many things they showed was the Game Center.
Think of it as Apple’s version of the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live, though Game Center seems to resemble the latter closer. The new service will come equipped with a social game network, leaderboards, achievements, and wouldn’t you know it, matchmaking. It will, however, be limited to the iPhone 3G and 3GS models – the original iPhone and the iPod Touch will unfortunately be left out.
Pricing information wasn’t announced, though they did say that the service will go live this summer – will it be free like PSN? Or have Gold and Silver memberships like Xbox Live? We’ll keep you posted as more info comes along.
