Apple Music development and Beats Pill are the subjects of the new Apple VP meeting.

Beats Pill (2024)
Apple VP says in a recent interview that Apple’s strategy with Apple Music and Beats Products, such as the Beats Pill is to provide quality options for fans. Apple subsidiary Beats by Dre has updated its long-time, portable speaker, the Beats Pill. It was retired in 2021. AppleInsider’s review revealed a speaker that combines great audio with long-lasting battery life and stereo capability. Oliver Schusser, Apple’s VP, spoke with Wallpaper about the Beats Pill and how Apple continues to push forward the music industry. Schusser says, “We had to do a great deal of work,” pointing out Beats as a premium company that focuses on headphones. Apple had to “completely reimagine and redesign our entire headphone lineup” because they were working to make the best headphones. Subscribe to AppleInsider YouTube. Apple has been focusing on headphones for years instead of the Pill, but it still “wanted something special” to be done with it. “It was not a case of swapping out one or two items.” Schusser says, “We really wanted a total refresh.” The VP responded that “it was all about efficiency” when asked how Apple could make the speaker lighter and smaller while maintaining sound quality. Efficiency of the acoustic component, efficiency of structure. “Obviously, we’re a part of Apple and have some really amazing engineers working on these devices. We are obsessed with weight, making it as light and small as possible, making the battery last longer – 24-hour batteries is incredible. Apple wanted to make these products look like premium products. “Even if our target audience is a little younger and people use the Pill at the beach or on the basketball court, they are still high-quality products.” A decade of impact Ten years after Apple’s $3 billion Beats deal, Schusser was asked to reflect on Dr. Dre’s and Jimmy Iovine’s work in hardware. “They made high-quality products that looked really cool. Through music, artists, and sports. “I give them a great deal of credit.” Apple “completely reimagines the products” while overhauling the interiors. However, Apple keeps the hardware “relatively faithful to the original iconic design.” Schusser points out that the Studio over-ears headphones are an iconic brand, and their form factor is still “as relevant and cool as it was ten years ago.” The new Beats Pills headphones can be set up stereo. He explains that Dre and Iovine created a “team and culture” that was focused on making the headphones sound better than any other product. He continues, “There is no one better than Dr. Dre, Jimmy Iovine and their team, who have spent the majority of their lives working in recording studios, and [focused] on] actually raising the bar as high a possible.” Schusser believes that Beats has experienced tremendous success over the past decade. They have aggressively expanded into the in-ear market, after a major impact on the over-ear segment. Schusser says that the pace of innovation has been phenomenal in the past few years. Festivals and Apple Music When discussing live music, Schusser was asked about his involvement in the iTunes Festival as well as the Apple Music Festival. He says that the festival had a “good run”, but it was paused in 2016 and other initiatives introduced. Apple Music festivals may returnThis includes the Apple Music Live series which is not just a more regular and frequent event, but also one that moves around the world rather than being centered in London. “They are mostly bespoke, exclusive shows as a benefit for our subscribers. We’re always looking for new ideas and ways. Schusser does not completely rule out the return of festivals, but adds that “we want to go where music and culture are.” It’s our place.” Schusser, who claims that music is in Apple’s DNA, says Apple wanted iTunes and Apple Music “to be a place made by fans for fans.” We wanted to offer more than just a list of songs that you can click on, [pay] and have in your library. Apple wanted to showcase the curation of music to encourage discussion on taste and new music. The festival was set up to encourage dialogue and discussion. “And we’re trying to do that,” says he, referring to the various radio stations of the service. The Best 100 Albums of All Time also had the goal of getting people talking about albums. “People don’t talk about music as much as they used to. It’s really sad. Schusser, when asked about Apple’s progress in five years as it relates to innovation in music, says “We are focused while other people are running from music into audiobooks and podcasts.” Our service is clearly dedicated exclusively to music.” He then mentions smaller features in Apple Music, including Spatial Audio which has “completely transformed the listening experience.” Apple Music Sing and Classical are also mentioned, as is the display of lyrics for users, thanks to “a team” of people transcribing songs. “We are trying to make Apple Music a great place to listen to music.” “I’m super happy about that,” he says.
