Apple Photo Clean Up appears in the experimental version of iOS 18.1.

Photos Clean Up in iOS 18.1
Clean Up for Photos is an Apple Intelligence feature which can remove unwanted elements from photos. Apple Intelligence’s ability to remove objects from photos using AI was one of the most important features at the time it was announced. It was finally available to developers on Wednesday. The Photos feature is included in the developer betas for iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18; it can be found within the Photos application. The feature appears as a new editing option, called Clean Up, when you select a photo. The function uses the AI generative capabilities of Apple Intelligence. The feature fills in the empty pixels of an image after selecting an object. You’re advised, on your first use, to tap, brush or circle the object you want to remove. The Clean Up function must also be downloaded to the iPhone or iPad for it to work. You can get different results from Clean Up depending on your technique. You can use your finger to completely cover the area you have drawn by brushing over the image. You can brush over the edges and the tool will remove the surrounding elements. However, you can also brush over a part of the object to have the tool partially hide the subject. The object detection features of the feature are activated when you use the looping technique. It will then select what it believes you have circled to be removed. AppleInsider’s initial testing has shown that the feature accurately detects unwanted elements in the scene. Filling in the void is also effective, but it can be tripped up by things like shadows. Clean Up will also highlight any objects that you want to remove. In these cases, a single tap will remove them from the scene. All edits can be undone without damaging the original photo. Apple’s iPhone 16 will be released on September 9. However, buyers won’t have the opportunity to test out the Clean Up feature in Photos until then. Users may need to wait until iOS 18.1 before they can remove photobombers or other unwanted artifacts.
