Apple problems release applicants of current-gen OS improvements
iOS 17
Apple has released the release candidates for iOS 17.6 as well as iPadOS 17.6. Last updated 5 hours ago. Developers who are part of Apple’s beta program may download the new builds from an Apple Developer Center or update their iPhones or iPads already running the betas by updating them via the Settings app. The public beta versions are usually released shortly after the developer versions. These release candidates are for current-generation Apple operating systems including iOS 17.6, iPadOS 17,6, watchOS 10.6, TvOS 17.6, macOS Sonoma 14.6, and tvOS 176. These release candidates are not to be mistaken with the fall builds testing for iOS 18, iPadOS 18, tvOS 18 and macOS Sequoia. This is the fifth generation of this generation. It now includes release candidates for the operating systems. Apple is planning a full release, as the builds are now finalized. The fourth round of current-gen betas was released on 16 July. The third round of betas arrived on July 9 following the second round, which was released on July 1. The new build numbers for iOS 17.6 and iPadOS RC are: 21G79
macOS 14.6 RC – 23G80
tvOS 17.6 RC – 21M6071
HomePod 17.6 RC (21M71)
watchOS 10.6 RC – 21U577
VisionOS 1.3 Release Candidate – 21O771Apple has also released new release candidates for older operating systems including iOS 15.8.3, macOS Monterey 12.7.5, and macOS Ventura 13.6.6. Subscribe to AppleInsider YouTube Due to the existence of fall update versions, Apple will very likely not include any new features in its current-gen software updates. AppleInsider and Apple recommend users do not install beta or RC versions of software or test operating systems on “mission critical” or primary devices. There is a small chance that data could be lost. Instead, testers should use secondary or non essential hardware and make sure they have enough backups of critical data.
