Apple Watch Series 10 &, Ultra 3 will be faster, but not an celebration makeover
Apple Watch Series 10 may be thicker or thinner depending on the rumor.
As the release date approaches, initial supply chain rumors that predicted a blockbuster redesign of the Apple Watch to celebrate its 10-year anniversary are fading. Apple announced the Apple Watch in October 2014, but it wasn’t until April 2015 that the final version was shipped. Bloomberg reports that the new Ultra 3 and Series 10 models are expected to get a brand new chip. However, the exact date of their arrival is still unknown. Apple could adopt its previous strategy and announce the new models near the end 2024 but with an arrival date in spring 2025. Apple Intelligence is not expected to be added to either model. According to a report published on Sunday, the new models may lay the foundation for future AI enhancements. Apple Watch models will be thinner but still retain the same basic design. We’ve already reported on and modeled this. Both existing sizes will reportedly get larger screens. The larger model is expected to have a screen that is similar in size to the Apple Watch Ultra. Apple Watch Ultra 3 is not expected to have any significant design differences from the current model. The Ultra models were introduced in 2022. A redesign may not happen until 2025. According to other rumors, the new models may have better displays. Apple could also take advantage of the anniversary and change the way bands are connected to the Watch. This would make older bands incompatible.
