Apple’s iphone 17.6.1 &, mac Sonoma 14.6.1 are up, with small improvements
The iOS 17.6.1 update has been released.
Apple has released iOS 17,6.1, along with updates to iPadOS, macOS Sonoma. All of these are believed to be minor updates focusing on security. There is also a bug fix to Advanced Data Protection. It’s unclear what all the upgrades consist of. There is a bugfix for iOS and iPadOS that fixes an issue that prevents the user from enabling or disabling Advanced Data Protection. Apple’s “sub-point” OS updates are primarily designed to fix minor bugs and not introduce any new features. This update comes at a time when Apple is testing the next major release. Apple is beta testing iOS 18 as well as iOS 18.1, while iOS 17.6.1 is now the current iPhone version. Apple shipped its most recent regular update on the same day it released the second public beta for iOS 18 and the first developer beta for iOS 18.1. Apple released iOS 17.6 on July 29. It is recommended that you update to the most recent version of iOS. There have been problems in the past, so it is best to wait until the iPhone does it automatically or delay manually starting the update.
