Armored Core 4 makes PS3s crash

Picture courtesy of Kotaku.com. And yes, the booth lady is distracting. The headline says it all, but the real question is, did Armored Core 4 make PS3s crash because of awesomeness? Perhaps it was a 50-50 thing. Over at Kotaku, Michael McWhertor said that the the demo kits they were using to play the console went down “over a dozen times.” A little understandable given that they were using tool kits for TGS 2006, but if there’s an urban legend (or a series of jokes much like Chuck Norris facts), this would probably be the game that gets that dubious honor.

Imagine. “Armored Core 4 was so awesome, consoles died in its awesomeness and fans began speaking in tongues!” Now that would definitely be way fun to watch.

As for the game, the demos featured a desert city, and McWhertor said that the game looked good, and that the “lighting was very unique, the only light sources being a setting sun clouded by smoke and dust or the bright light of your mech’s afterburners and energy shield.” Sounds dramatic for an action game, but if you’re a fan of From Software, it’s probably what you’d expect, right?
