Ask about Call of Duty 3 multiplayer, devs answer

This GameTrailers interview with the devs of Call of Duty 3 reveals a lot of details that makes the multifragfest feel like… Battlefield 1942. I’m sorry to have to make the comparison, but when David Vonderhaar talks about the new Class system they introduced to CoD3, about the specialized combat capabilities of each Class – yep, BF1942.

Of course Activision throws in a couple of innovations and changes here and there to differentiate this WWII shooter from that other WWII shooter. CoD3 Soldiers in each Class can Rank Up, and when they’re promoted, they can carry more of their special ammo like rifle grenades, mines, arty strikes, etc. The Class system makes CoD3 even more team-centric than its predecessors, says the devs, which probably is one good benefit of “looking for inspiration elsewhere.”

The devs reveal other details, especially on matchmaking and teaming up, which you can listen to simply by clicking the big Triangle button below. After that, there’s another GameTrailers video, this time Activision‘s multiplayer features trailer for CoD3. Same as the GT interview, only less detailed, but this one offers a couple of tips you might find useful in your own multiplayer matches.

The second video awaits after the jump!
