Ubisoft has confirmed that Patrice Désilets, the creative boss behind the Assassin’s Creed series, has left the company to take a break from the industry. According to a statement released by the company:
“With his role on project essentially done, Patrice Désilets has decided to take a creative break from the industry and is no longer working on Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood.”
It’s still not known if Désilets has left the series permanently or just taking a time off after the Brotherhood project. Désilets has been part of Ubisoft Montreal since the beginning, working as a lead designer for the studio’s early titles like Hype: The Time Quest and the Prince of Persia franchise before landing an essential role in the creation of the Assassin’s Creed IP.
