However, what does come as a bit of news is that Ubisoft seems to be really decided on having no plans of releaing Trophies for the first game. Via their Twitter account, they confirmed:
No we won't add trophies in Assassin's Creed PS3 but there will be in Assassin's Creed 2 for sure.
