Asus VX1 Lamborghini Races On To The Scene
That insatiable need for speed continues to cross the tracks onto the laptop industry. This year, ASUS joins the race as the company introduces the ASUS VX1 Lamborghini. This particular model is reminiscent of the Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder, with its brushed aluminum exterior, and lid that slants downward toward the front bezel, fascinatingly, just like the hood of a real sports car.
At 1.2 inches thick, the unit is surprisingly quite heavy, at 5.7 pounds. Its 15-inch screen pimps itself up with 1,400-by-1,050 resolution, while the full-size keyboard and leathery touchpad are extremely responsive. Among other connections, it also includes a FireWire port, VGA-out, and a 4-in-1 card reader. ASUS has also smartly integrated a DVD+R dual-layer burner, and a 120GB hard drive provides for a large storage space.
And because it carries the Ferruccio Lamborghini emblem, you don’t expect it to come cheap at all. Available in bright yellow and black, this sporty laptop is tagged at a heart-racing $2,799! And you just might go that final sprint, for the VX1 will be sold exclusively at Newegg.com only until the end of August. But don’t worry, another lap will be opened later this year when it makes its way into the retail circuit at RCS Experience and Datavision.
The ASUS VX1 Lamborghini is the latest addition to the growing club of automotive-inspired laptops, which includes in its exclusive membership the Acer Ferrari 4000, and the Hummer Laptop IX600 of Itronix.
