Atlus Talks About Trauma Center: Second Opinion For Wii

Trauma Center: Second OpinionAfter having sprung from a rumor, and then later on being confirmed as one of the launch titles for the Wii, Tomm Hulett of Atlus has taken the time to confirm a few more details about the hospital-themed game Trauma Center: Second Opinion.

In an interview with Sliced Gaming, he was asked what exactly was Second Opinion. Hulett then proceeded to clarify that it is “a remake of the original game with a lot of new content added. The Wii version has all the content from the original, but also features several new stages with a new doctor character, and a re-done sixth chapter featuring an all-new storyline. The development team considers this the ‘perfect’ vision of Trauma Center. It should be clear this is NOT a port – no assets were re-used, so all the artwork and graphics are new to the Wii version.”

He also noted that unlike the DS version of the game where you operated on a patient with your stylus, the Wiimote will now be your main tool. On top of that, a bit of realism is included and an example he has provided was how you had to hold down two buttons on the Wiimote in order to emulate the act of gripping an object that you need to use for the treatment.

Asked about the visual style of the game, he has pointed out that the game still remains in the anime style, but with a more mature look. He was also quick to point out that though the graphics of operations are good, the squeamish members of the audience will still have nothing to fear.
