Atlus to drop two games under development
Japanese game developer and publisher Atlus is now considering dropping two games currently under development from its pipeline. The games were not named, but were described to be “variety titles” for the Nintendo DS and the Nintendo Wii.
Atlus has had some good success with the release of Trauma Center among other games for Nintendo’s game systems, but is wary of risks about possible flops. The two games which are being developed were apparently possible under-performers market-wise, triggering the reaction from the company.
It’s sad whenever a project gets called off, but on the bright side, Atlus did it early enough so that no anticipating fan hearts would get broken. They wouldn’t have to spend valuable resources either, so it’s a nice early exit if the discontinuation ever materializes. Atlus is best known for its quirky and original RPGs, which you’ll find an abundance of in various platforms.
