Australian Xbox 360 Elite confirmed, coming in “winter”

Xbox 360 Elite - Image 1After the whole barrage of rumors and confirmations about the now-famous Xbox 360 Elite, many fans have been left drooling over the lovely pictures of the black 360 and the box that it is supposed to come in. Its specs and US release date have also already been revealed, which left many a loyalist dreaming of its 120GN HDD, and the fact that it comes preloaded with content AND also has its own HDMI port and cable.

Those who are in Australia won’t have to feel left out though, as it has just been confirmed that YES, the Xbox 360 Elite will indeed be making it to your country. As announced by Microsoft Home and Entertainment Division Regional Director for Australia and New Zealand David McLean, the said version of the Microsoft console will be coming by “winter” 2007, though its price and an exact date for its release are yet to be revealed. According to McLean, “It’s too early to announce price. We are really trying to gauge the market size for it, so when we launch we will launch with a limited number of units.”

Well, considering the fact that we’re right about in the second quarter of the year already, “winter” may not actually be as far away as it sounds.
