Sony's PlayStation Portable Slim & Lite handheld - Image 1Homebrew developer Pspflashsystem has devised a new plugin which allows you to keep tabs on your PlayStation Portable’s remaining battery charge.

Entitled BATalert.prx, this plugin warns you when your PSP’s battery is starting to run low by the frequent blinking shown on your LED power indicator. Starting from 30% of power remaining, the LED indicator blinks faster the more the battery drains itself.

To install BATalert on your handheld, make sure to extract all the files found in the archive into your PSP’s root directory. Then add the following line to the VSH.TXT, GAME.TXT, POPS.TXT, and GAME150.TXT files found in your SEPLUGINS directory:

  • Ms0:/SEPLUGINS/BATalert.prx

Afterwards, restart your PSP and enter recovery mode by holding down the R Trigger button upon boot up. From the recovery menu, make sure to enable the BATalert.prx plugin for the VSH, GAME, POPS options. The plugin should then run automatically upon starting up your PSP.

As always, make sure to read the program’s Readme.txt file included in the bundle for more information on how to install the homebrew app. In any case, we hope you enjoy downloading this nifty application.
