Battlefield difficulty adjustments, exp rewards coming in next FFXI version update

Over at the official Final Fantasy XI website, PlayOnline has detailed a few gameplay adjustments made in response to player requests. These adjustments focus mainly on the difficulty of the Chains of Promathia missions and will take effect once the upcoming version update goes live.

Changes to monster level and placement have been made to some of the more particularly challenging Chains of Promathia battlefields. These include those that appear in the Promyvion areas (Holla, Dem, Mea, Vahzl) and the missions “Flames for the Dead” and “The Warrior’s Path”.

The special items used against the enemies found in the Chains of Promathia battlefields will also have their “Ex” properties removed. That means these items can now be put up for auction. Some items will also have their “Rare” property removed so players can carry multiple copies of the same item.

The version update will also include a new feature that rewards players with experience points upon the successful completion of a battlefield in the Chains of Promathia missions. The reward will be slightly less than that which players receive for ENM quests, but players can get this reward once every Earth day.
