It’s not everyday that actors test out video games based on the show that they’re acting in. In this case, Tahmoh Penikett, also known as Lieutenant Karl C. “Helo” Agathon on the Battlestar Galactica TV show had already playtested Sierra Online‘s Battlestar Galactica game, and he had a lot to say about Battlestar Galactica and electronic gaming in general.

Regarding Battlestar Galactica, Penikett mentioned that he loved the way Sierra Online incorporated actual episodes from the show into the game’s single player campaign.  Penikett  said that he enjoyed piloting his virtual Raptor in Battlestar Galactica and that he thinks fans of the Battlestar Galactica show will like Sierra Online’s game as well.

An old school gamer since his youth, Penikett unfortunately had a penchant for picking out game systems that ended up as defunct early on. Nevertheless, he admitted that his early gaming experiences helped him to enjoy and appreciate the more advanced games of today.

As Penikett himself put it:

I do appreciate the games and because I played so much when I was younger I can catch on to games pretty quickly today. I still have yet to try online gaming. I’m looking forward to it. It sounds awesome.
