More news coming from GamesCom. This one is from Platinum Games‘ producer, Yusuke Hashimoto, on the delayed Bayonetta (PS3 and Xbox 360). According to Hashimoto, it’s almost there in the finish line.
Talking to VG247, Hashimoto revealed that “In terms of development, we’re actually about 80 percent there.” Fans awaiting its release will surely be relieved to know that they are now at the polishing stage, and that they’re just making it nice, tidy and shiny. “We’ve only made the really basic parts, what makes the game really, really good, what makes the game really, really fun.”
As to the delay of Bayonetta to 2010, Sega said it was a business decision they had to do, and so they’re not disappointed with having to push back the game to next year. After all, why stand in the crowd when you can have the spotlight all to yourself?
“It was purely a business decision,” said Antione Malont, brand manager. “We’ve got a lot of games coming from Sega already this year. Bayonetta is really, really important to us, and we want it to work very well, that’s why we decided to postpone until very early next year.”
