beCreatus DP1310 Hybrid Dock assessment: Uniting your products and tastes

Review of the beCreatus Hybrid Dock DP1310
The beCreatus KVM switch and 13-port USB-C Dock for Mac, iPad or PC is a decent device that strikes a good balance between work and fun. In the age hybrid work, many people find themselves at their desks for both their job and their recreation. It can be difficult to switch from your gaming device to your recreation device when it’s time for relaxation. Switching inputs on my monitor is a difficult, but necessary, step to switch from MacBook to PC. The DP1310 simplifies the process by pressing a button to switch one of the three monitors on the dock. BenQ has been a leader in consumer electronics for over 40 years. They specialize in projectors and monitors. Now they are introducing docks. The DP1310 has a gray finish, except for the green button that serves as the power and HDMI input switch buttons. The dock has a matte finish which is great when the main feature is the button. BenQ assumes that you work first before you play, so they only switch one monitor to a different input. The other two remain on for your laptop. The dock accepts HDMI inputs from your computer and other devices, and handles switching via a single output HDMI to your primary monitor. The beCreatus DP1310 hybrid dock is a large dock that can be held in one hand. Thirteen ports means a lot of activity, and it’s best to get some good wire management in place first before committing to the DP1310. DisplayLink is required for your MacBook. If you have downloaded it for another reason, it will work as soon as you plug in everything. BenQ has a video below that you can watch if this is your first time using docks with multiple ports. I couldn’t connect three monitors to the dock but two, plus the laptop screen, is enough for me. beCreatus DP1310 Hybrid Dock – Specs

In my use of the DP1310, I was able to make the most of my pre-existing MacBook and PC setup. I used to have to leave my MacBook on a monitor and then press a few buttons to switch to my widescreen monitor. The process is now streamlined, and my MacBook’s accessories are also powered. After finishing my tasks, I would turn on my computer, press the button and enjoy Hades II early-access or Minecraft. The DP1310 is a good option for those who have a dedicated laptop or want to use a console setup. beCreatus DP1310 hybrid dock review – MacBook Pro in use. The product design focuses on productivity with your laptop and a single dock is only able to do so much. A Bluetooth keyboard works well with the DP1310 to switch between computers. Some monitors come with built-in KVM switches, which allow for seamless switching. This would cost the same or more than the DP1310 so I’d do some research before buying something new. Both my MacBook and PC maintained the same refresh rate, despite all usage. As promised, the 4K60 display was also tested. BeCreatus DP1310 hybrid dock review – I would recommend placing the dock near the rear of your desk to help manage wires.beCreatus DP1310 – Wraps your setup neatly. Overall, the DP1310 dock is a great one with a relevant feature. It’s a perfect fit for my older MacBook and aging computer. It’s great if you want to balance productivity and recreation, play games at your desk or go back and forth between the office and home. If you have a good system for switching between devices, and just need a USB C dock, I would settle for something else. beCreatus DP1310 hybrid dock Pros Seamless input switch with one button 13 ports to provide extensive connectivity Compact and sleek design Compatible with multiple operating systems. beCreatus DP1310 hybrid dock Cons Only switches one monitor’s input Pricey compared to other docks Rating: 3.5/5 Where to purchase the beCreatus DP1310 hybrid dock The beCreatus DP1310 hybrid is available from Amazon and BenQ for $299
